Cathy Tymniak has been installed as regent of the Eunice Dennie Burr Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Tymniak received the regent's pin from outgoing Regent Pamela Huth during the Chapter's annual meeting May 6, the chapter said in a news release.

A former state representative from the 133rd District, Tymniak has served on the Historic District Commission and the board of the Fairfield Museum and History Center. She traces her roots to Revolutionary War soldier David Nichols, who is buried in the Greenfield Hill Cemetery, the chapter said.

The chapter also announced it had received an award from the Connecticut DAR in April for Outstanding Achievement in chapter rejuvenation.

The mission of the Daughters of the American Revolution is to promote education, historic preservation, history education, and patriotism
