Donald C. Papcsy, 73, of Fairfield, husband of Elizabeth Papcsy, died July 13, 2010.

Born and raised in White Plains, N.Y., son of the late Joseph and Catherine Papcsy, he graduated from Archbishop Stepinac High School and attended St. Francis University in Pennsylvania.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hiking, and dedicated much of his youth to the Boy Scouts of America. Papcsy attained the honor of Eagle Scout, was a troop leader and received the Bronze Pelican Award at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City for making a significant contribution to Catholic youth through exemplary service.

He was a builder of fine homes in Fairfield and Westchester counties for more than 50 years. Above all else, he was a devoted father and grandfather.

In addition to his wife, Elizabeth, he is survived by a son, attorney Donald Papcsy of Sandy Hook; a daughter, Stacey Cummings and her children, William and Kyle Cummings of San Diego, Calif.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Jude's Church, Monroe. Interment will be private. Friends may call Sunday, July 18, from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
