A dispute over parking behind a downtown building Thursday led to the arrest of Gregory Mokotoff, 40, a pediatric dentist.

According to police, the owner of the building next to Post Road building where Mokotoff's practice is located, was parked in a spot in the lot behind the buildings. As the man was backing out of the parking space, he told police he had stopped for traffic on Sanford Street. He said he heard a bang and noticed that Mokotoff was standing next to his car, according to the report.

Mokotoff allegedly yelled at the man, telling him that he was not allowed to park in that spot and that he had been previously warned, police said. There was a dent in the car door, which the man told police was not there before.

Two witnesses, who told police that they did not know either man, said they saw the man backing up, heard the bang and saw Mokotoff standing next to the car.

Mokotoff was issued a misdemeanor summons for breach of peace and released on a promise to appear April 8 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
