The Cornell Road bridge closed for construction Tuesday, with roads closed to all through traffic. Roads will be open for local traffic leading to the bridge construction area.
Detours will be posted to re-direct traffic. The roadway and sidewalk will remain closed until the bridge work is completed, estimated to be in either December of this year or January of 2013.
Periodic updates on the construcution project will be posted on the town's website, www.fairfieldct.org.
