Diane M. Legg, 84, of Fairfield, the wife of William H. Legg for more than 60 years, died April 22 at home.

Born in Mount Vernon, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Orben and Marguerite Purdy. She had been a Fairfield resident for 48 years.

A longtime member of Fairfield Grace United Methodist Church, she was a active in the church Women's Group, was a bell ringer, a former head of the Prayer Chain and was involved in the annual rug show fundraiser. In her younger years, she enjoyed making and hooking rugs as well as square dancing.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include her children, Raymond Legg and his wife, Cynthia, of Waterbury and Carol Roth and her husband, Charles, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; four grandchildren, Amanda and Andrew Legg and Kimberly Webster and her husband, James, and Michelle Roth.

A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. April 26 in Fairfield Grace United Methodist Church, 1089 Fairfield Woods Road. Burial will be in Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, N.Y.
