FAIRFIELD — A Congress Street man had to quarantine his dog for 14 days after it bit a friend.

An Eastlawn Drive resident reported Oct. 13 that his friend brought his 11-year-old Wheaton Terrier, Buddy, to his house the day before. The victim said when he bent down, the dog bit him on the wrist, causing puncture wounds.

Animal Control records show that Buddy, owned by James Schaper, had been reported in 2014 for biting a postal carrier.

The dog does have a valid rabies vaccination, but his license had expired. Schper received a written warning for the lapsed license and was ordered to quarantine the dog on his property for 14 days.
