Dog license renewal required by July 1

Licenses for all dogs in Fairfield 6 months old and over must be renewed by July 1 every year.
Town Clerk Betsy P. Browne said that licenses can be renewed at the Town Clerk's office, which is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The pet owner also must present a current rabies inoculation certificate for the dog to be issued a new license.
The fee for a spayed or neutered dog is $8. If the animal has not been spayed or neutered, the fee is $19. The first time a dog is licensed, a certificate of spaying or neutering must be presented to qualify for the lower fee.
After July 1, a $1 per month penalty is added to the license fee.
To apply for the license by mail, send the required certificates to Betsy P. Browne, Town Clerk, 611 Old Post Road, Fairfield CT 06824, along with a stamped, self-addressed envelope.
