Donald Alan Peterson, 66, of Fairfield, died March 24 at Bridgeport Hospital.

Born in New Haven, he was the son of the late T. Sigurd and Carol Peterson, and lived most of his life in Fairfield. A 1962 graduate of Andrew Warde High School, he served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Over the course of his professional career, he worked at Perkin-Elmer in Danbury, where he assisted in work on components for the Hubble space telescope.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 44 years, Mary Ellen; his children, Carol, Jeffrey and Keith; his daughters-in-law, Andrea and Jessica; his grandchildren, Anna, Samuel and Nicholas; his brother, David, and his wife Linda; his sister, Patricia and her husband Wes; a brother-in-law, Edward Kachmar and his wife Cynthia, and nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 28, in Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church, 79 Church St., Bridgeport. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
