On Saturday, March 1, at 4 p.m., the downtown Fairfield University Bookstore will host "The Cat In The Hat Story Time" as part of Read Across America, a reading motivation and awareness program celebrated every year on the birthday of children's author Dr. Seuss by the National Education Association. The program calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading.
Fairfield University student athletes will read from a variety of Dr. Seuss story books at the free event. Kids can also make their own hat and enter a free raffle for a "Cat in the Hat" floor puzzle or toy store gift card.
The program is for kids ages 3 to 7 accompanied by an adult. A live costumed character will be on hand to welcome kids and families. A large selection of Dr. Seuss books will also be available for purchase at the bookstore, 1499 Post Road.
