Henry Calam, 40, of Old Greenwich was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, risk of injury to a minor and a stop sign violation around 10:40 a.m. Tuesday after an accident with another car on Round Hill Road.

Calam, who told police he was lost, was driving north on Round Hill Road when he made an abrupt left turn to enter Interstate 95 and crashed into a car traveling south on Round Hill Road.

"It wasn't his turn to go," said police Sgt. Suzanne Lussier.

Calam was trying to get his 7-year-old daughter to a doctor's appointment, according to police. When police arrived at the scene, they reported that Calam's speech was slurred and he was unsteady on his feet. He failed field sobriety tests. The results of a Breathalyzer test were negative, said police.

Calam, whose license was confiscated, was issued a $250 bond. He is scheduled to appear Jan. 11 in Bridgeport Superior Court. Police said his daughter was picked up by his ex-wife and the Department of Children and Families was notified of the incident.
