Theodore Guest, 22, of Edgehill Court, was charged with driving under the influence Friday night after police said he struck a telephone pole and then left the scene.

Guest told police he lost control of the car on Holland Hill Road near Home Street because of the wet road conditions. When police arrived at the scene, Guest was nowhere to be found, though the car was still there, according to the report. He was tracked down and police said he failed field sobriety tests. He was also charged with failure to drive right and evading responsibility.

He was released after posting a $250 bond and is scheduled to appear June 17 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
