A driver-less car knocked over two motorcycles at the Fairfield Tire and Auto Center, 1370 Kings Highway Cutoff, on Tuesday afternoon.
A Trumbull resident pulled his car into the parking lot and left the vehicle's motor running while he went in to see if the oil could be changed. He told police that he heard shouting and saw his car rolling backwards through the lot. It hit another car twice before knocking over two motorcycles and coming to a stop, according to the report.
When an officer arrived on the scene, he said the car's transmission gear selector was in reverse.
No charges were filed in the incident, which was reported for insurance purposes.
