A former employee at the Dunkin' Donuts located in the Cumberland Farms store on Kings Highway was arrested on a warrant Monday and charged with stealing at least $3,000 from the coffee shop.

Jose Rivera, 39, of Noble Avenue, Bridgeport, turned himself in at police headquarters Monday night to face a charge of third-degree larceny.

The theft was first reported by the store manager in February after Rivera was found to have deleted transactions from the cash register, according to the report, and then pocketed the money. Rivera admitted to stealing about $3,000 -- usually no more than $40 or $50 a day -- during the six months he worked at the shop, police said.

Bond was set at $10,000 bond and he is scheduled to appear March 25 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
