Kids were on an eggs-citing holiday roll Saturday at the Pequot Library's traditional Easter Egg Roll on the Great Lawn of the Southport landmark.

Under the guidance of Susan Ei, the Pequot's children's librarian, the young egg-rolling crowd used long-handled wooden spoons to propel colorful hard-boiled eggs across the lawn. All were rewarded with prizes, as well as congratulatory hugs, as they crossed the finish line.

Besides the big roll, there were other Easter-themed activities, including chalk art on the sidewalk, a group Bunny Hop, ring tossing, egg dyeing and visits with Blossom, the library's resident bunny -- as well as photos with Blossom's visiting "cousin," the Easter Bunny.
