Edith A. Durnin, 98 of Bridgeport, wife of the late Michael Durnin, died March 20 at the Ludlowe Health Center in Fairfield.

Born March 18, 1913, in Chelsea, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Maro and Annie Clark. She had been a Bridgeport resident most of her life.

Survivors include two children, Mary Turrini of Fairfield, and Frank Durnin and his wife Gloria of Ormond Beach, Fla.; grandchildren Scott Durnin and his wife Judy, Brian Durnin and his wife Meribeth, Kevin Durnin and his wife Gerilyn, Patricia Hurley and her husband Robert, Susan Avenia and her husband James, and Laurie Rodriguez; nine great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her siblings; a son, William; grandson, Daniel Turrini, great-granddaughter, Melanie Durnin, and son-in-law, Ernest Turrini.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 24, in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, with the Rev. David Spollett officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Calling hours are Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
