A panel discussion on higher-education opportunities for adults making career changes is scheduled Wednesday, Aug. 3, at the Fairfield Public Library.

The free program is planned for 7 p.m. in the Rotary Room of the library's main branch at 1080 Old Post Road. It is offered in partnership the Higher Education Consortium of Connecticut.

Representatives of six colleges and a trade school will participate in the discussion, "Affordable Degree Completion and Continuing Education Opportunities for Adult Students."

The library said people who are out of work are returning to school as a way of transitioning their careers. The program will focus on affordable degree options for adults and shortcuts to degree completion.

Representatives of the following schools will participate: Post University, Sacred Heart University, University of Connecticut-Stamford, University of Bridgeport, Western Connecticut State University, Brio Academy of Cosmetology and the Graduate Institute.
