Elizabeth "Betty" Lucas, 70, of Fairfield, the wife of the late Robert W. Lucas, died Aug. 24 from injuries she suffered in an accident riding her bicycle.

She was the financial secretary and a long-time active member of United Congregational Church in Bridgeport. The former Easton resident worked part-time at Jones' Winery in Shelton following a 20-year career at People's Securities in Bridgeport, where she retired as a supervisor in 2000.

She was a graduate of Colby Junior College in New London, N.H., and Sacred Heart University in Fairfield. She was an avid gardener, and liked the beach, riding her bike and traveling.

Survivors include children, Brad Lucas and his wife Eunice of Larchmont, N.Y., Marcia Baksay and her husband Terry of Easton, Curtis Ramsey-Lucas and his wife Carol of Hyattsville, Md., and nine grandchildren, Arianna, Marcus, Christopher, Lucas, Blake, Noah, Samuel, Jonah and Daniel.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at the United Congregational Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Norma Pfriem Children's Choir at United Congregational Church, 877 Park Ave., Bridgeport, CT.
