The Enchanted Castle, a Fairfield Halloween tradition that offers a gentler, storybook take on the holiday, opened last weekend and continues to offer youngsters a more magical, less mayhem-filled, treat this week.

The historic Burr Manion, 739 Old Post Road, is outfitted with decor and characters from children's fables. The event benefits the Ahlbin Centers for Rehabilitation at Bridgeport Hospital.

Hours are: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and 4 to 7 p.m. Monday. Time for group tours can also be reserved from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; email info@enchantedcastle.org to make a reservation.

Admission is $5. For the complete schedule and other details about the Enchanted Castle, visit http://www.enchantedcastle.org.
