WESTPORT — A bountiful blend of fashion, food and fundraising all contributed to an evening of glittering finery and fun for a good cause Friday at the 21st annual Spring Gala of Near & Far Aid.

The annual event, benefiting the Southport-based charity’s programs that support anti-poverty programs around the region, was hosted as usual by Mitchells of Westport.

Dancing and an auction capped off the event.

The theme this year was “Voices of Hope,” focusing on “stories of the individuals served and the agencies that Near & Far Aid funds throughout the year,” according to gala organizers.

Near & Far Aid, a volunteer group, provides funding for 100 agencies and programs in Fairfield County working to eradicate issues that cause poverty, according to a press statement. Since 2000, Near & Far Aid said, it has granted more than $15 million toward that cause.
