Author and former Fairfield resident Susan Kietzman will discuss her new novel, "A Changing Marriage," on Thursday evening, March 20, at the downtown Fairfield University Bookstore.

Kietzman will appear at 7 p.m. on the second floor of the 1499 Post Road store.

"A Changing Marriage," her second novel, traces the relationship of Karen Spears and Bob Parsons, a bright and attractive couple who meet in college, get married and seem to have a romance-movie life, the bookstore said.

Bob's career is soaring, but Karen puts hers on hold when she gets pregnant. What had been a caring relationship begins to disolve as Bob singlemindedly pursues his next promotion, while Karen is overwhelmed being a stay-at-home mother, the bookstore said. When resentment and disenchantment build on both sides, Karen finds herself at a crossroads.

Kietzman's first novel, "The Good Life," was published in 2013.
