'Exceptional Learners' topic of Fairfield talk

"Gifted and LD: Strengths and Challenges of Twice -- Exceptional Learners" will be the topic of talk by Devon MacEachron, Ph.D., on Thursday, March 29, at Roger Ludlowe Middle School, 689 Unquowa Road, Fairfield. The event, co-sponsored by Fairfield PTA Council's Gifted & Talented Subcommittee, Fairfield SEPTA and the group, Smart Kids with Learning Disabilities, will take place from 7 to 9 p.m.
MacEachron, a school psychologist and co-director of the Connecticut Center for Exceptional Children, will discuss recognizing and capitalizing on children's gifts and remediating and accommodating the weaknesses of students with learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and other challenges.
Smart Kids with Learning Disabilities is a Westport-based nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering parents of children with learning disabilities and attention deficit disorders by educating the public about the children's talents, the release states.
