The series "Getting Ready for College" returns to Fairfield Library this fall to help students and their parents in their college search.
The series opens on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. with a special session featuring two presenters, Mary Spiegel and Lynn Carnegie. They will discuss how to best prepare for the admissions process, including finding the best colleges for a student's needs and qualifications, and standardized testing strategies to get there. A new topic will be covered each month.
Spiegel is a certified educational planner and owner of Spiegel Educational Consulting. A former director of admissions at Fairfield University, she has nearly two decades of experience in higher education and is a frequent speaker at local organizations and regional corporations on the topic of college admissions. Carnegie co-founded Carnegie & Pollak Test Prep in 1984 to prepare Fairfield and Westchester County students for college entrance exams. With over three decades of teaching experience, she brings her expertise in math education to the SAT Prep classroom to help students excel on the math section of the SAT.
The sessions are free and will be held in the Rotary Room at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road.
