The Fairfield County Children's Choir recently named several Choral Scholars, an award given to high school seniors for their commitment to choral music, scholarship, and dedication and participation in the choir. All have been choir members for the past nine years, from fourth through 12th grades, and most will be continuing to sing in their college choirs and musical ensembles.
Choral scholars from Fairfield are: Lilly Boyd, who will be attending Hope College; Sofia Bramante, the University of Delaware; Allison Nascimento, Quinnipiac University; Katie Schreiner, the University of Kentucky; Sarah von Euler, Davidson College; and Sofie Wall, the University of Connecticut.
The choir also presented its High Notes award to Marjorie Duzy, a
retired Holland Hill School teacher and a former member of the choir's board of directors.
The annual award recognizes an individual or group that has made a significant impact as an advocate of the arts in Fairfield County and is a musician or musical educator in Connecticut.
