Fairfield residents are invited to visit the Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport for a reduced entrance fee of $5 on Saturday, Sept. 7. Among the special exhibits for visitors to see are a rare Amur leopard, Mexican wolves and new infant arrivals, including Guinea hog piglets and two sets of Nigerian dwarf goat kids.
"Fairfield Day provides us the opportunity to give back to the local community and residents who have continuously supported us throughout the years," said Gregg Dancho, zoo director. In case of inclement weather, Fairfield Day will be rescheduled to Saturday, Sept. 14.
The Beardsley Zoo is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Regular adult admission is $12, children ages 3 to 11 and senior admission (62 and older) is $10. Children under 3 and zoo members are free. Zoo parking is also free.
