FAIRFIELD — The League of Women Voters of Fairfield will sponsor a Sunday performance by singer-songwriter Patty Griffin to promote voter registration and information.

Griffin, joined on the “Use Your Voice 2016 Tour” by Sara Watkins and Anais Mitchell, will perform at 7 p.m. at the Quick Center for the Arts on the Fairfield University campus.

During the concert, local League of Women Voters volunteers will be on hand to provide information about voter registration; sources of local candidate and voting information, or how to support the LWV and its programs.

“I am hoping with this tour to bang the drum about our democracy, about our communities and even about our neighbors down the street,” Griffin said in publicity for the event.

The Fairfield LWV “is excited to be a part of this inspiring tour,” Bryce Perry, co-president, said in a press statement. “With our presidential primary coming up on April 26, now is the time for us to take advantage of any and all opportunities to talk with voters about how much their voice matters, help our neighbors make sure their voter registration is up to date, and get them the information they need to cast a vote.”

Tickets to the event cost $60, $55 and $45. They can be purchased by contacting the Quick Center box office at at 203-254-4010, e-mail boxoffice@quickcenter.com or visit the box office at 1073 North Benson Road.
