FAIRFIELD — A Bridgeport man allegedly ran from the scene after crashing his car into and snapping a utility pole early Saturday morning in Fairfield.
Police said Kubilay Bayram hit the pole along Mill Plain Road and was seen running from the crash July 8. His mother, who owned the car, arrived at the scene and gave police Bayram’s contact information.
The Queen Street resident claimed he was attempting to find an officer when he left, but he could not explain why he didn’t stay and call police.
The 22-year-old was charged with evading responsibility and failure to drive right. He was released on a $50 bond ahead of a July 18 court date.
