A new list that ranks Roman Catholic colleges and universities in the U.S. places Fairfield University at number 9, just below the College of St. Benedict in Minnesota and above Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash.

Compiled by College Factual, a resource used on USA Today’s college web site, the list looked at more than 200 Roman Catholic colleges. Its criteria considers such things as loan default rate, graduation rates and average salaries of graduates.

Also in the top 10 were Georgetown, Boston College and the University of Notre Dame.

In Fairfield’s profile, the local Jesuit University’s “popular academic program” and focus on social justice were among the items cited. For more, visit the list here: http://usat.ly/1IOCOeK
