Fairfield U. spring jazz concert Thursday

The performance starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Gonzaga Hall auditorium. Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door, the ensemble said.
The program will include original student compositions, jazz standards, and R&B and rock classics.
Greenwich native Versace plays organ, piano and accordion. In a news release, the ensemble called him "one of the busiest and most versatile musicians on the New York jazz scene."
He recently completed a recording with saxophonist Lee Konitz and has performed in bands led by John Scofield, John Abercrombie, Maria Schneider, Matt Wilson and others, according to the release. He won the Jazz Journalists Association "Best Organist" award in 2012.
The university's 15-member Jazz Ensemble is directed by Brian Torff, the university's director of jazz and popular music.
