FAIRFIELD — A Fairfield University student was arrested on campus early Saturday and is facing drug charges.

Logan Tassey, 20, of Gorham, N.H., was charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell near a school and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police were contacted by campus security just before 2 a.m. They discovered the marijuana after smell an odor of burnt pot coming from the deck of one of the university townhouses. Tassey allegedly had a jar of marijuana, a ginder, rolling papers, a scale, and plastic bags. He also turned over to security a small footlocker that contained a safe. In the safe was more marijuana and over $1,000 in cash.

Tassey was released after posting a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Bridgeport Oct. 4.

Another resident of the townhouse, Michael Santana, 18, of Bronx, N.Y., was issued citations for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
