A 20-year-old Norwalk man faces drug charges after a police officer stopped him as he was skateboarding in the middle of Fairfield Woods Road on Saturday night.
The officer said he approached Michael Kunytskyy, of Stone Crop Drive, Norwalk, to warn him that what he was doing is extremely dangerous -- a day after a Fairfield 16-year-old suffered serious injuries when he was hit by a car while skateboarding on North Benson Road.
While the officer spoke with Kunytskyy, he said the man appeared nervous and kept putting his hands in his pocket, despite being told several times not to do so, according to the report. When Kunytskyy was told to place his hands on the patrol car, he refused and then began to resist, police said. In his pockets, officers said they found a digital scale and three packages of marijuana.
Kunytskyy was charged with illegal sale of a controlled substance and possession of an illegal substance within 1,000 feet of a school. He was released on a promise to appear Oct. 1 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
