Fairfield couple charged in domestic dispute

Fitzsimmons allegedly punched and choked his girlfriend, as well as knocked a phone out of her hand when she tried to call police, according to police.
And he told police that Martinez had cut him with a steak knife.
Both were charged with disorderly conduct.
Fitzsimmons, released on $1,000 bond, was also charged with third-degree assault, strangulation and interfering with an emergency phone call, while Martinez, released on $800 bond, was additionally charged with second-degree assault.
Each was scheduled to appear Wednesday in Bridgeport Superior Court.
