A day's delay made Fairfield's annual Independence Day show a bigger blast.
A wave of pyrotechnics fans lined the town's beaches to watch bombs burst in air Saturday's clear night sky, pushed back a day by rain Friday. The rockets' red glare didn't disappoint, either.
The crowds on shore weren't the only ones enjoying the spectacle as a flotilla of all kinds boats bobbed in the Sound beneath the bright lights.
As the dazzling finale lit up the skies, the crowd burst with enthusiasm, erupting with cheers and chants of "USA! USA!"
