Fairfield forecast: A rainy day, but snow unlikely

The steady overnight rain has eased early this morning across southwestern Connecticut, but precipitation remains a possibility well into the evening.
The snow that had been predicted to be part of a messy mix for the day, however, has not materialized.
Today's daytime high temperature is expected to be about 43 degrees, according to the National Weather Service, with a north wind between 15 and 17 mph.
Rain remains possible through the night and into early Friday as the temperature falls to a low of about 36 degrees. It will be breezy, with a west wind between 14 and 21 mph.
Tomorrow will be partly sunny, with a high near 51. A west wind will register between 14 and 17 mph. Tomorrow night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 36 degrees.
Sunday promises to be mostly sunny, with a high near 52 degrees, the NWS says. A northwest wind is expected to between 15 and 21 mph.
