Fairfield forecast: At last, a bright outlook

The weekend forecast for southwestern Connecticut promises to be so appealing that it may ALMOST help us forget the meteorological mess of the last two weeks.
The National Weather Service says that today should be partly sunny with a daytime high temperature in the mid-50s. There will be a light and variable breeze.
Tonight is expected to be cloudy, with a low temperature about 40 degrees and a south wind around 5 mph.
Sunday, Veterans Day, promises to be mostly sunny, with a high temperature in the low-60s. Nighttime will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the high-40s.
Monday will be mostly sunny, the NWS says, with a high temperature in the mid-60s. There is a chance of showers Monday night as skies turn cloudy and the temperature dips to a low in the low-50s. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
On Tuesday, showers are likely, with a high temperature in the upper-50s. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. There remains a chance of showers Tuesday night as the temperature drops to a low in the upper-30s. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
The outlook for Wednesday, according to the weather service, is mostly sunny, with a high temperature near 50.
