Fairfield forecast: Bright start for the new year

The new year dawns today on a fairly bright note, with mostly sunny weather in the forecast for southwestern Connecticut through the weekend.
The first day of 2013 will see partly sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service, with the daytime high temperature in the upper-30s and a northwest wind 11 to 15 mph.
Tonight is expected to be partly cloudy, with a low temperature around 20 degrees and a northwest wind 8 to 13 mph.
Tomorrow should be mostly sunny, with a high temperature in the low-30s. Tomorrow night should be mostly clear, with a low temperature about 20 degrees.
Thursday will be sunny, the NWS says, with a high temperature in the low-30s. Nighttime will be mostly cloudy, with a low around temperature in the low-20s.
Friday also will be mostly sunny, with a high temperature in the mid-30s. Friday night will be mostly clear, with a low temperature in the low-20s.
The outlook for both weekend days, according to the weather service, is mostly sunny and temperatures in the 30s.
