There's a late-summer chill in the early-morning air today in southwestern Connecticut, but temperatures will rise to the balmy 80-degree mark this afternoon.

Skies will be sunny, with a north wind around 7 mph, later becoming southwest in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

Clouds, however, move in tonight as the temperature dips to a low in the upper-50s.

Rain is likely tomorrow, mainly between 8 a.m. and noon, the NWS says, and skies will be cloudy as temperatures reach a high of only 70 degrees. There is a chance of rain tomorrow night, mainly after 10 p.m.

Tuesday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high temperature in the mid-80s. There is a chance of showers overnight Tuesday as temperatures dip to the low-60s.

On Wednesday, there remains a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Skies will be mostly cloudy, with a high temperature in the low-80s. Nighttime will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the mid-60s.

The outlook for Thursday, the weather service says, is sunny and a high temperature about 80 degrees.
