Clear and cold. Very cold.

That's the simple forecast from the National Weather Service for southwestern Connecticut through the weekend.

Today and tomorrow, the daytime high temperature is not expected to rise above the mid-20s. And the nighttime low will fall into the mid-teens. The wind chill will make things feel even colder, because of winds gusting between 10 and 15 mph.

By Friday, according to the NWS, may inch above the freezing mark at 33 degrees under sunny skies.

And Saturday, with the stretch of bright weather continuing, the high temperature could hit 35.

Some clouds, but no snow, are on the horizon for Sunday, the weather service predicts.
