After a very sunny Sunday, the last week of the summer vacation season gets under way on a cloudy note in southwestern Connecticut.
The National Weather Service says there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 4 p.m. Skies most of the day will be partly cloudy as the temperature rises to a high in the upper-70s. There will be a light south wind, increasing to 5 to 9 mph in the morning.
Overnight, there remains a chance of showers and thunderstorms. It will be mostly cloudy, with a low temperature in the upper-60s.
Tomorrow, showers and thunderstorms are likely, mainly before noon. Skies will be cloudy in the morning, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high temperature in the low-80s. Things are supposed to clear by nighttime as the temperature dips to about 60 degrees, the NWS says.
Wednesday should be sunny, with a high temperature in the upper-70s. Nighttime will be mostly clear, with a low temperature in the upper-50s.
Thursday will be sunny, with a high temperature about 80 degrees. Nighttime will be mostly clear, with a low temperature in the low-60s.
The outlook for Friday, the weather service predicts, will be sunny and temperatures in the mid-80s.
