Fairfield forecast: Clouds, rain on the way

Morning skies are expected to cloud over today, with showers and patchy fog on tap this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
The daytime high temperature in southwestern Connecticut is expected to rise to the mid-40s, with a south wind 6 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is rated at 80 percent, the NWS says.
Tonight showers are likely, mostly before 9 p.m., as the temperature dips to a low in the upper-20s. There will be a west wind 7 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
Tomorrow should be mostly sunny, with a high temperature near 35 degrees. Nighttime will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature about 20 degrees. There will be a west wind around 18 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.
On Thursday, skies will be mostly sunny, with a high temperature in the mid-30s. Thursday night will be mostly clear, with a low temperature in the mid-20s.
Friday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high temperature in the upper-30s. There is a chance of light snow by night as temperatures fall to a low of about 30 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
The outlook for Saturday, according to the weather service, is possible snow/rain mixed and temperatures about 40 degrees.
