Fairfield forecast: Gray, wet weekend

This will be a damp, fairly dour day in southwestern Connecticut, according to the National Weather Service.
Patchy fog has settled in sections of the region early this morning, while rain is possible, mainly before noon. Skies are expected to remain mostly cloudy most of the day, with a high temperature in the mid-50s. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent, the NWS says,
Tonight, there is a slight chance of rain before 8 p.m. Skies continue to be cloudy as the temperature dips to a low ab out 40 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
Tomorrow, there is a chance of rain after 1 p.m. Otherwise, the day is expected to be partly sunny, with a high near 50 degrees. Odds of precipitation are about 30 percent.
Rain is likely tomorrow night, while skies turn cloudy and the low temperature registers in the low-40s. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
More rain is likely Monday, but temperatures will rise to the relatively warm level of the low-60s. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. Showers also are likely Monday night, with a low temperature in the low-40s. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent, according to the NWS.
On Tuesday, showers again are possible, although the day will be partly sunny, with a high temperature in the mid-40s. Odds of precipitation are 30 percent. Tuesday night will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature about 30 degrees.
Wednesday should be mostly sunny, with a high temperature in the low-40s. Nighttime will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the low-30s.
The outlook for Thursday, according to the weather service, is sunny and temperatures in the 40s.
