Fairfield forecast: Heat wave easing under sunny skies

Today will be mostly sunny, with the daytime high temperature in southwestern Connecticut rising to the mid-80s.

The National Weather Service says there will be a north wind 6 to 8 mph, becoming east in the afternoon.

Tonight will be partly cloudy as the temperature dips to the low-60s. There will be a south wind around 6 mph.

Tomorrow, there is a chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms after noon. Otherwise, skies will be mostly sunny and the temperature will rise to a high in the low-80s. Nighttime will be partly cloudy with a low temperature in the mid-60s.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny with a high temperature in the low-80s. Wednesday night will be mostly clear as the temperature dips to a low in the mid-60s.

The outlook for Thursday, the weather service says, is mostly sunny and temperatures in the low-80s.
