The weather pattern of possible showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon is forecast today for southwestern Connecticut -- and the rest of the weekend.
The National Weather Service says the greatest chance for rain or storms is after 4 p.m., rating the odds at 30 percent.
Today's daytime high temperature will be about 80 degrees, with a west between 5 and 8 mph. Tonight will be mostly cloudy, with a low temperature around 60 degrees and a west wind between 7 and 9 mph.
Tomorrow, showers and thunderstorms are again possible, mainly after noon. Skies will be partly sunny, with a high temperature near 80s. The possibility of showers and thunderstorms also continues before midnight, as the temperature dips to a low in the low-60s.
On Sunday, there once again is a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3 p.m., the NWS says. Skies will be partly sunny, with a high temperature in the upper-70s. By nighttime, there remains a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight as the temperature registers a low around 60 degrees.
The outlook for Monday, the weather service predicts, is mostly sunny with temperatures rising to the mid-70s.
