Today brings a cycle of sunny, warm days to southwestern Connecticut that is expected to roll right through the weekend.

The National Weather Service says that skies will be sunny today, with temperatures rising to a daytime high in the upper-70s and a northwest wind 8 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.

Tonight will be clear, with a the temperature dipping to a chilly low of about 50 degrees. There will be a northwest wind 6 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

The NWS forecast for tomorrow -- and into early next week -- basically mirrors today's: sunny with daytime temperatures rising to about 80 degrees and overnight temperatures in the upper-50s.

Even the outlook into early next week, for now, predicts the pleasant, late-summer weather will prevail.
