Today will be sunny with a slight warming trend that should ward off the threat of snow later this week that had been forecast previously by the National Weather Service.

The daytime high will be about 36 degrees, with a north wind between 7 and 11 mph.

Tonight will be clear with temperatures falling below 20 degrees, but the wind will calm to only 5 mph.

There is a slight chance of rain tomorrow after noontime. The temperature should reach a high of about 40 degrees. By nighttime, the odds of rain increase to 80 percent, the NWS says, but the temperature is expected to remain above the freezing level at 35 degrees.

On Friday, rain is likely to continue, with a daytime high of about 43 degrees. It will be breezy, with a calm wind becoming west between 19 and 22 mph. Rain remains possible before 10 p.m. Friday, and the skies will be cloudy and blustery.

Saturday promises to be partly sunny, with a high near 37 degrees, the weather service says.
