Gusting winds are buffeting southwestern Connecticut early this morning, but are expected to subside under sunny skies later today.

The National Weather Service says the daytime high temperature will reach about 50 degrees, with a northwest wind 19 to 22 mph, and gusts as high as 40 mph. Later, the wind should calm to a breeze between 15 to 20 mph.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 31 degrees. There will be a northwest wind around 9 mph.

Tomorrow is expected to be partly sunny, with a high temperature of about 42 degrees. Tomorrow will also be mostly cloudy, with a low temperature falling to around 25 degrees, the NWS says.

Partly sunny skies will prevail Sunday, with a high near 39 degrees. Conditions clear Sunday night, as the temperature hits a low of about 30 degrees.

Monday will be mostly sunny, the weather service predicts, with a high near 45 degrees.
