FAIRFIELD — A May Street man is under arrest and a police investigation continuing, after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend Sunday night.

Miroslaw Swidergal, 52, was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct in connection with the incident. According to the police report, Swidergal’s girlfriend ran to a neighbor’s house around 9:20 p.m., visibly upset with her nightgown torn.

She told police they had been drinking and the started arguing when she saw him texting another woman. She said he grabbed her nightgown, and her hair and arms, and threw her out of the house.

Swidergal was held on a $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Bridgeport July 24.
