FAIRFIELD — After he was spotted on surveillance video taking — and drinking — a bottle of wine from Holy Family Church, Jay Degirolomo was warned not to return.
But, police said, Degirolomo came back to the Old Stratfield Road church and used a key he had to get in. The Fairfield man had been warned on June 26 not to return to the church and the church pastor called police around 8:45 p.m. on Friday July 29 when Degirolomo was spotted inside the building.
Degirolomo, 52, of Tunxis Hill Road, was charged with first-degree criminal trespass and released on a promise to appear in state Superior Court in Bridgeport on Monday, Aug. 8.
