FAIRFIELD — Police are looking for the young woman who they said stole almost $4,000 worth of jewelry from a downtown merchant Saturday afternoon.

According to police, the young woman went into Henry C. Reid Jewelers, 1590 Post Road, shortly after 4 p.m. to get a ring re-sized. While there, police said, she asked to look at several other pieces of jewelry. She fled the store with the jewelry, valued at a total of $3,600, and ran to the Rite Aid parking lot, where she got into a white, four-door Honda with dark tinted windows.
