Fairfield residents, 86 and 90, find love at the senior center

FAIRFIELD — At a Valentine’s Day senior center luncheon, one guest, Elizabeth Thomas, 86, enjoyed the festivities sporting a new accessory, a diamond ring.
The day before, so as not to make a Valentine’s Day fuss, Lou Bello, 90, got down on his knees, proposed and — his new fiancee joked — got up all by himself.
The Fairfield residents met at the Bigelow Center for Senior Activities a year and a half ago. Because she could still drive, Thomas gave Bellow a ride to the doctor and their relationship bloomed from there.
