Two Southport sisters and a Fairfielder have qualified for international rowing championships for the US Junior National Team.

Sisters, and Ludlowe students, Lucy and Rosie Grinalds qualified for the Junior National Team, Lucy will be in the stroke position in the 8-boat and Rosie will be rowing in the straight four boat.

Ludlowe's Maddie Stearns was one of 18 girls to qualify for the CanAmMex "A" 8-Boat and is currently training to compete in the CanAmMex Regatta on Monday in Oak Ridge, Tenn.

Both Grinalds' are training in Princeton, N.J. and will train there until July 28. The Junior National Team will try to defend its gold medal in the 8+ Boat at the Junior World Championships in Prague starting Aug. 5 and running until Aug. 8.

Three boats from the Junior National Team qualified for Prague.

All three girls race for the Connecticut Boat Club which is based in Norwalk.
